Grounds, pool and surrounding area

Outside the house the doors open onto the stone terraces providing perfect spots for sitting with a drink and enjoying the lovely views over the river and surrounding hills. For outside dining a barbecue, table and chairs are provided on the terrace near the old bread oven.

The pool is situated down a secluded track (wide enough to drive down) about 100m from the house. It is an above ground pool, the largest of its type and is surrounded by decking with steps leading up to it.

La Gourdinerie is a pretty stone built cottage for up to 5 guests that nestles on the wooded slopes of the Lot valley and overlooks the river below. Once a family home, it has been sympathetically renovated and retains many original features together with comfort and modern convenience. There is no central heating, but the sitting room has a lovely Cantou fireplace with a wooburning stove. The house is very private and peaceful with no near neighbours, yet only a few miles from the nearest town.

The cottage is only 7km from the medieval town of Entraygues that has a full range of shops including local butchers and bakers, numerous cafes and restaurants. Farmers markets on Fridays and in the summer, night markets, provide local speciality food and entertainment in the market square. Leisure amenities include canoeing, horse riding, river rafting, tennis, golf and river walks.  Conques and Estaing, two of the “Beaux Villages de France”, are just 12 miles away. The large towns of Aurillac and Rodez are about an hour’s drive and both offer extensive shopping, culture, restaurants and activities to suit all tastes.
