    Description

    The Main House

    Drawing room

    Off the entrance hall to the left is the cream drawing room with French windows looking out across the grounds. It has an open fire that is usable all year round, comfortable sofas, an iPod sound system and various coffee table books.

    The door to the right of the fireplace leads to the TV / Music room.

    TV/Music room

    The TV/music room has basic SKY satellite TV (for full SKY please bring your own viewing card); various DVD’s & Videos; Play station with games; a piano and a couple of guitars. This room also has a good quality sofa bed.

    The door from this room leads to a corridor and toilet (in the turret).

    The door in front leads to the main hallway again.

    On the right as you enter the front door is the dining room.

    Dining room

    The dining room has a large new regency style dinning table (seats at least 12 people); a dresser and corner cabinet both have internal lighting and a small sound system. There is a large selection of after dinner games.

    This room leads into the Kitchen.

    Kitchen

    The built-in kitchen has all the usual pieces of equipment: cooker, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, an icemaker and all you need by way of cooking utensils. (There is also an additional large fridge/freezer available should you need extra space.)

    Out of the kitchen and back to the hallway there is a door to your right leading down to the cellars & on the left is the Games Room

    Games room

    The Games room contains a pool table; table football; Croquet set; Scalextric set; golf driving mats / pitching nets, plus a Badminton Set.

    Back into the basement hall. The door to the left leads to a lobby leading to the front entrance under the outside steps. Here there are five bikes, for use at your own risk.

    Back up the stairs to the first floor where the guest bathroom with shower is first on the right followed by:

    Master bedroom

    6’6” Four Poster and Balcony with en suite shower room

    First bedroom:

    The Japanese Room with large dark walnut double bed.

    Second bedroom

    The ‘Cream Room’ has a 7′ cream 4 poster bed, iPod sound speakers and massage chair.

    Leaving this room, straight ahead is the Master Bedroom.

    Top floor bedrooms

    On this floor there are three bedrooms: two doubles and a bedroom with two single sleigh beds. A shower room, separate WC and a dressing Room

    The Cottage

    The cottage is built of local stone with wisteria covering the walls, the recently refurbished interior is comfortable and tastefully furnished, with tiled floors throughout the ground floor and under floor heating. The front door opens into the comfortably furnished living room. There is a leather sofa and arm chair; iPod / CD sound system; TV with SKY basic, DVD player; a selection of DVD’s; various coffee table books and under floor heating. The door to the left leads into the dining room with table and chairs for 4 people and there are board games for guests’ enjoyment. The kitchen is fully fitted and modern with every convenience and plenty of utensils. There is also a small downstairs WC.

    Upstairs are 2 large double bedrooms. The master bedroom has king size bed, TV and DVD player, en-suite shower room with an excellent shower, hand basin and WC. The second bedroom is very spacious, has super king size bed and claw footed bath. There is an en-suite washroom with WC.

    The utility room is next to the cottage and has 2 washing machines, tumble dryer and a second fridge freezer.

    The gym

    At the back of the property Gym with running machine, weights and bike.

    Next to the Gym, is the Laundry Room, equipped with large washing machine and separate tumble dryer. In the laundry room there are sun loungers, pool toys and also an outdoor table tennis table bats & balls

    The pool

    The pool is heated and has a pool cover with electric operation for complete safety.

    Gardens

    Approx. 5 Acres & Paddock.  In and around the gardens you will find four tables, at least 10-12 chairs, a large gas barbecue and a double hammock.

Le Bourg is a stunning classically French manor house sleeping 12 with heated private pool set in 5 acres of grounds on the outskirts of Lacroix-Barrez, a small and pretty village on the southern Cantal /northern Aveyron border, in South-west France. Drive through the gates and you see before you the house, flanked by yew hedges leading to the front courtyard. Double ‘bullnose” steps lead up to the front door and into the grand entrance hall. The house is beautifully and luxuriously furnished with classic French furniture and modern pieces – a spacious house, ideal for larger families and groups.  There is also an independent cottage for 4 guests, which is never booked when the house is occupied, unless by the same group. Please contact regarding prices for booking both properties.

Location

Le Bourg is located on the outskirts of Lacroix-Barrez where there is a small grocery store selling fresh bread and a café. The lovely town of Mur-de-Barrrez is 10 minutes drive and has a wide range of shops, banks, pharmacies, restaurants, supermarkets and a weekly market. Half an hour to the south is the medieval town of Entraygues which provides a full range of shops including local butchers and bakers and Friday farmers markets. Leisure amenities include river rafting, horse riding, river walks, numerous cafes and restaurants and in the summer night markets provide local speciality food and entertainment in the market square. The large towns of Aurillac (40 minutes) and Rodez (1h 15) both offer extensive shopping, culture, restaurants and activities to suit all tastes.
